Do you recognise anyone here?  These photos are from the archive of the late James Ancrum, Communist Party member and Gateshead Councillor.  Since he appears in several of them, it is unlikely that any were taken by him. The best which our source can elicit is that they were snapped by an exiled member of the Communist Party of Germany who was a pretty serious photographer.

The photographic archive, not all of which is displayed here, features activities of the National Unemployed Workers' Movement, and a colliery strike which drew in the Communist Party (in the form of the Red International of Labour Unions) and other events. There is also a photograph of the Communist Party book shop in Westgate Road, Newcastle, probably taken around 1935.
